Moselle Open: Cameron Norrie wins first ATP Tour title since July

Cameron Norrie recorded his first win on the ATP Tour since July with a come-from-behind victory over Roberto Carballes Baena at the Moselle Open in Metz.

Britain’s second-ranked Norrie fought back from a set and a break down to win a rollercoaster match against Spain 3-6 6-4 6-3.

This is his first tour win since defeating Josef Kovalik in the first round of the Swedish Open about four months ago.

A forearm injury forced Norrie to miss several tournaments over the summer, including the Olympics and the U.S. Open, before returning last month.

“I was happy with the way I turned it around and I’m happy to get the win,” Nori said.

The 29-year-old, ranked 57th in the world, will face third seed Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in the second round on Wednesday.

Norway’s Casper Ruud and Russia’s top seed Andrey Rublev are in action in the French city on Tuesday as they look to secure a spot in the season-ending ATP Finals, which starts in Turin on Sunday.

Currently, 6th place Novak Djokovic, 7th place Ruud, 8th place Alex de Minaur, and 9th place Rublev are competing.

Djokovic will not play this week after withdrawing from the Paris Masters last week, while De Minaur is the top seed at the Serbia Open.
