After working together for over a year Cezanne And because I wear their clothes (almost) every day, I wanted to do a roundup of the best (i.e. most versatile, most worn, highest quality) pieces I’ve been excited to add to my wardrobe. As I thought about this list, I realized that each silhouette is unique to Sézane, which means you won’t find a similar copy on sites like J.Crew, Madewell, etc. There’s a reason they keep selling out. Today, in no particular order, I’m going to share with you the wardrobe essentials I would buy from Sézane if I were building my wardrobe from scratch.
Here are some of my favorite wardrobe essentials from Sézane this year:
1. Betty Cardigan
$170
The Betty Cardigan is made from merino wool and is perfect for winter. The sophisticated crochet finish along the collar, pockets and lower sleeves adds texture to the outfit, making it perfect for everything from work to weekend plans. This classic piece can be paired with everything from jeans to skirts for a versatile look.
Notes on suitability: This runs a little small. Consider ordering one size larger.
2. Jacques Pants
$170
I have an apple-shaped body and have generally avoided paper bag pants because they don’t look good on me. But these are different. The fit of these pants is amazing. They fit well and are very comfortable.
Notes on suitability: Fits true to size. If you are under 5′ 7″ tall you will need to hem it.
3. Emil Cardigan
$170
The Emilie cardigan is perfect. You can wear it with buttons on the front or back! The lightweight alpaca and wool blend material is cozy enough for cold weather, and the balloon sleeves provide a fun silhouette. It looks great with jeans and a T-shirt or with a feminine skirt and blouse.
Notes on suitability: The size is true to size. However, it does fit a little oversized, so if you are between sizes, consider choosing a size down.
4. Louis Jumper
$145
The Louise jumper is a wardrobe essential. This super kid mohair jumper features long sleeves, a round neckline and a button placket at the bottom of the sleeves. It looks classic when worn with high-waisted jeans and boots, or sophisticated when worn with a miniskirt and heels. I also love wearing this jumper over my shoulders or turning it into a scarf. However you style it, this versatile piece will always look effortlessly chic.
Notes on suitability: This sweater runs large. For a more fitted look, size down two sizes!
5. Brute Sexy
$125
These jeans have won my heart. I wear them constantly in gray and get compliments at the grocery store. If you miss the leggy denim style but still want a very modern look, this is a great cut. I love pairing cream denim with crisp white and navy. Pair these jeans with a tucked-in blouse or a fitted tee for an effortless, elegant silhouette.
Notes on suitability: These jeans run a size large. I usually wear a size 25 in denim, but these jeans are a size 27. Also, be sure to consider the fit notes listed below each time you wash them, as each wash will fit differently. These cream jeans are 99% organic cotton and 1% elastane, and run larger than my gray jeans, which are 100% organic cotton.
6. Romiback
430 dollars
A classic, minimal black bucket bag is top of my list this year. I love the style of The Row and Céline, but they don’t fit my budget. The Romie is absolutely gorgeous and has an understated luxury feel that reminds me of my love of The Row and Céline. Plus, it’s a lot cheaper than those bags! The Romie bag is the perfect accessory to carry all your essentials in an easy, yet classy way.
7. Tobias Jumper
$170
I am obsessed with Cezanne knitwear. This half-zip sweater is dreamy and perfect for layering. I love this sweater so much I wear it everywhere. Grocery store, Pilates class, eating out. Perfect for running errands or having a casual lunch with friends.
Notes on suitability: The Tobias sweater runs true to size, but if you prefer a more form-fitting look, we recommend sizing down a size.
