Samsuddin JavaThe terrorist who wreaked havoc in New Orleans on New Year’s Day won numerous medals during his military service. TMZ has learned this.
The veteran served as a human resources specialist and information technology specialist in the Regular Army from March 2007 to January 2015 and was also a decorated soldier. an Army spokesperson told TMZ.
We’re told Jabbar has earned 23 medals, ribbons and badges, including the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal.
Jabbar was also awarded the Global War on Terrorism Medal. Ironically, the FBI said Jabbar committed an act of domestic terrorism.
We’re told that while serving in the military, Jabbar was deployed to Afghanistan from February 2009 to January 2010. While serving overseas, Jabbar received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with a Campaign Star.
Jabbar also reportedly served as an IT specialist in the Army Reserves from January 2015 to July 2020, holding the rank of sergeant at the end of his service.
Jabbar’s other awards include driver and mechanic badges. It’s a special badge that indicates a high level of skill in driving and maintaining cars… which is interesting considering he used a pickup truck to kill 14 people on busy Bourbon Street.
