New York Giants drop to third straight CBS Sports rankings

The New York Giants’ offense has seen several notable changes this offseason, particularly at the skill positions.

Of course, the Giants watched star running back Saquaon Barkley sign with the division rival Philadelphia Eagles and Darren Waller, who led their biggest offense last offseason, retire.

Obviously, this season’s offense will look significantly different than it did before the 2023 season.

CBS Sports recently reported Annual NFL Triplets Rankings And, unsurprisingly, the Giants’ ranking fell to 29th.

29. New York Giants

QB: Daniel Jones RB: Devin Singletary WR: Malik Narbus

Daniel Jones under center and Devin Singletary behind him scream, “This is temporary.” New York tried to replace Jones in the offseason but failed, and they didn’t restructure before the contract started like they did last year. Narberth is definitely here to stay, and hopefully for a long time, but it’s no surprise that New York fell from last year’s inflated rankings.

CBS’s trifecta rankings were compiled by a 12-person staff panel. Evaluates the projected starters at quarterback and running back, as well as the projected top pass catchers, for the 2024 NFL season.”

Last year, Big Blue finished 18th with a trio of brothers in Daniel Jones, Saquan Barkley and Darren Waller.

Combine Jones’ tough 2023 season with an injury-shortened season, the perceived downgrade from Barkley to Singletary, and the fact that Malik Navers has yet to play in the NFL, and it’s easy to see why the Giants fell quite a ways off this list.

The offensive line is expected to improve, Singletary is getting more solid and Narberth has become one of the most talented pass-catchers Jones has ever played with, so both the passing and running games should improve.
