New York Giants legend Eli Manning is one of 15 former NFL players selected for final enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Modern Era Player category for the Class of 2025, announced by Visual Edge.

Manning is one of six original finalists named to the list, along with wide receiver Steve Smith, Jr, linebacker Luke Kuechly, kicker Adam Vinatieri, offensive lineman Marshal Yanda and defensive end Terrell Suggs.

Nine players were also named who reached this stage last year. Cornerback Eric Allen, defensive end Jared Allen, tackle Willie Anderson, guard Jahri Evans, tight end Antonio Gates, wide receiver Torry Holt, running back Fred Taylor, wide receiver Reggie Wayne and defensive end Darren Woodson.

The Class of 2025 is scheduled to be announced in New Orleans on February 6 in the build-up to this year’s Super Bowl.

From the Pro Football Hall of Fame:

The selection committee may select up to five modern era players for the class of 2025. Each candidate must receive at least 80% of the approval votes to be eligible for election. Five others – senior category finalists Maxie Baughan, Sterling Sharpe and Jim Tyrer; with Coach Finalist Mike Holmgren and Contributor Finalist Ralph Hay.(Opens in new window) — is also a candidate for the Class of 2025. Voting for these five will be done separately, in their own group separate from the Modern Era players. Depending on the hall’s bylaws, a minimum of one and a maximum of three members may be elected from these combined categories.

There is no set number of oratory levels, but the current Hall of Fame selection process bylaws provide that between four and eight new members will be selected.
