Eddie Howe praised Lewis Hall’s progress this season after England called up the full-back yesterday.

Hall was a surprise inclusion in the squad for Nations League matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland later this month as interim coach Lee Carsley attempts to find a solution to the Three Lions’ problems at left-back. Thomas Tuchel.

Hall, who made a permanent move to St James’ Park over the summer after spending last season on loan at Chelsea, has established himself in the first team in recent weeks and Howe is delighted with his progress.

He said: “I’m happy for him. He’s had a really good start to the season. He is very consistent, [has produced] A truly mature display.

“There’s still a lot to come from him. We’re seeing him evolve every week. He’s always adding layers to his game. This is a great achievement for someone so young and we are delighted for him.

“We have signed a talented player. There is no doubt about it. [He] “Like all of us, no matter our age, we had some things to do.”

Howe is a fan of Nuno

Newcastle visit third-placed Nottingham Forest on Sunday and Howe is a fan of Nuno Espirito Santo’s achievements at the City Ground.

“they [having a great season]. “Nuno deserves praise for what he has done,” he added. “They have made some very good signings in the recent transfer window. They have added some really good players to the squad. They have a way of playing that suits them.

“They are very difficult to deal with. How big of a test would it take for us to score against them? “They have a solid defensive foundation, really good pace in wide areas and are a threat up front.”

Consistency is needed – Howe

Newcastle went into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Arsenal last Saturday.

The result moves them up to 11th in the table and Howe hopes it heralds more consistent form from his side.

He said, “We are looking for ways to improve this year. Consistency is a very important word for us. Not the most exciting reaction, but this is what we judge ourselves by.

“I think if we can find the ability to win games and put a series of results together, the Premier League is so tight it could really change the feel.”
