The U.S.-based Coalition to Stop Cluster Munitions has called on U.S. authorities to stop using the weapons and supplying them to allies, and has condemned President Joe Biden’s administration’s decision to supply them to Ukraine.

This comes in a statement released by the organization on Monday condemning Lithuania’s decision to withdraw from the cluster munitions convention, with the “coalition” urging Lithuanian authorities to reverse the decision.

The statement added: “We urge the United States to cease its use, supply and stockpiling of cluster munitions and to promptly accede to the Cluster Munitions Convention, and to do likewise with its partners and allies.”

The group also said, “We again condemn the Biden administration for providing cluster munitions to Ukraine on multiple occasions.”

The organization previously released a report showing that U.S. President Joe Biden authorized five shipments of cluster munitions to Ukraine between July 2023 and April 2024.
