No BCCI-PCB talks on 2025 Champions Trophy at ICC Annual Conference

There was no discussion on the 2025 Champions Trophy at the recent ICC Annual Conference in Colombo, despite Pakistan being the designated host of the tournament. The four-day conference ended today without any discussion on the issue, which was notably omitted from the agenda of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

“It was not on the agenda and was not raised or discussed at the annual general meeting,” said a source close to the meeting. A senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) echoed these sentiments, confirming that there had been no discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the Champions Trophy.

“It is not a bilateral meeting between the two boards. There was no discussion between us and the PCB on the Champions Trophy. It was not on any agenda and was not discussed at the AGM. There is still time and the ICC will take care of it,” a senior BCCI official said.

The absence of any discussion on the Champions Trophy has been a source of curiosity for cricket enthusiasts and officials alike, as the tournament is of such significance in the international cricket calendar. However, the ICC will be the one to manage the event, and discussions are likely to take place closer to the tournament date.
