Strands requires players to put a twist on the classic word search. Words can be made of connected letters – up, down, left, right or diagonally – but words can also change direction to create clever shapes and patterns. Every letter in the grid becomes part of the answer. There is always a theme that connects all the solutions, along with a “spangram” – a special word or phrase that summarizes the theme of the day and extends the entire grid horizontally or vertically.
