Have you ever read it? This is how we did it? Matt Lamothe interviewed seven children from around the world and illustrated their lives, from what they ate for breakfast to what games they played. My kids were so fascinated that they wanted to stay up late to read more. Well, I’m happy to tell you that Matt has just published a book. Another book…
We were lucky enough to get our hands on an early copy. All About US: A look into the lives of 50 real kids across AmericaAnd my sons have already looked at it a hundred times. Our favorite spread is probably the one from a family in Maine. How dreamy is that?
The Alaskan family was also very interesting. They rode around in a snow machine!
Matt interviews children from diverse families on a variety of factors including race, income, hobbies, number of siblings, and family structure, giving us a look at the many ways children grow up in America.
Amelia from Iowa helps her dad fly his plane!
Eleven-year-old Bessie gets into trouble while reading a book while driving her electric wheelchair.
I have always loved seeing the different ways people live in this world. So we have been doing the Parenting Around the World series for years and my kids are equally as fascinated. We plan on buying several copies for friends and family as birthday gifts next year!
What children’s books have you enjoyed reading recently?
PS A $1 birthday gift and three words that changed my parenting style.
