New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is closer to winning a ring. Hiring Mike Vrabel as his new head coach has nothing to do with it.
The former North Carolina Tar Heel announced Wednesday on social media that he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson.

Maye, 22, and Hudson, 21, have been dating for almost a decade. They announced their engagement on Instagram.
“I love living life with you. “I can’t wait to marry you!” May wrote.
The Patriots commented on his Instagram post with a photo of the couple, saying, “Congratulations to Drake May and Ann Michael Hudson!!”
The two started dating in high school, and their relationship improved as they got older.
To celebrate their nine years together, Hudson uploaded three photos from over the years to her Instagram.
“I’ve been with you for 9 years and it gets better every day. I couldn’t imagine my life without you my best friend. I love you more than you will ever know!” she captioned her post. Hudson previously shared her excitement when the Patriots selected the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Maye finished the season as the starting quarterback and made his first NFL start on October 13 against the Houston Texans. The Patriots finished the season with a 4-13 record.
Vrabel described Maye as a “young, dynamic quarterback” on ESPN SportsCenter this week. “He has arm talent. He’s athletic,” Vrabel said. “Obviously, we’ve got to get along well with him and we’ll keep pushing him as long as he lets us.”

Maye and Hudson have been together since the former was a quarterback. Huff Huskies In high school. Hudson backed up Maye on Friday night and had to switch her support on Saturday afternoon when he started running the ball for the Tar Heels.
The couple attended UNC together. Hudson is still working toward earning her degree with a double major in entrepreneurship and conflict management.

Hudson has amassed impressive experience while on campus. She interned as a strategy consultant. Piedmont PenisIt’s a snack food startup based in North Carolina. She also serves as Vice President of Finance for her sorority, Kappa Delta.
Just a few months ago, Hudson shared on her page that she had recently accepted the opportunity to participate in Deloitte Consulting’s upcoming Summer Scholars Program.
Successful people often seem attracted to each other. With that in mind, it’s not really surprising that Hudson and May ended up together.
