Pegula knocked out of BJK Cup finals, to be replaced by Ashlyn Krueger

2024 US Open Runner-up Jessica Pegula He will not be playing for Team USA in this year’s BJK Cup finals.

The USTA announced the news on Wednesday. Ashlyn Kruger I will be replacing her on the team.
Kruger will join Danielle Collins, Peyton Stearns, Taylor Townsend and Caroline Dolehide on the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup team on November 13. They are scheduled to participate in the finals held in Malaga, Spain from the 20th.

This will be the BJK Cup debut for Krueger, a 6-foot-1 20-year-old from Dallas. He notched three wins against top 25 players over the summer and advanced to the third round of the U.S. Open. She is currently ranked #65 in singles and #64 in doubles.

Kruger defeated teenage sensation Mira Andreeva (6-1, 6-4) at this year’s US Open Grand Stand. She broke the 17-year-old’s serve six times and dominated the baseline to win in 64 minutes. She is a former Orange Bowl and USTA 18 Champion.



The United States will face Slovakia in the first game in Malaga on November 14, and the winner will advance to the quarterfinals against Australia. Each tie will be played as a best-of-three format consisting of two singles matches and one doubles match.
