The New Olians Pelican broke up with the vice president of basketball operating David Griffin, and today’s Gayle Benson.

“After a lot of thoughts and evaluation, David Griffin decided to alleviate its obligations as a basketball vice president.“ This was a difficult decision, but I think we need to build a new approach to our front office and build a culture that can achieve sustainable success in the court. I am eligible to lead the basketball operation department and hire the right person and deliver the NBA championship to deliver the NBA championship to our city. I would like to thank David and many contributions to our leadership. We hope that David and his wife, Merdis and his family will do their best. ”

Griffin was appointed vice president of the team’s basketball operation on April 17, 2019. Under Griffin’s leadership, Pelican has collected 209-263 records, including two playoffs (2021-22 and 2023-24) in the last six seasons. New Olians finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 21-61 record.

Benson added: “Our focus is the championship in the court, but we also continue to prioritize the fan experience and do the same work in the court and make it easy to access the game throughout the Gulf South region on various convenient platforms. We are trying to determine the best way to switch to the stadium.
