Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini spoke to the club after the Giallorossi’s 2-1 win over Udinese.
Pellegrini got back on the scoresheet for Roma in the second half when he leveled the game with a penalty, before passing the second penalty to Artem Dovik, who ended up scoring the decisive goal of the night.
“The team was very motivated today. At the end of the first half, we left the locker room early because we wanted to go out on the field to win the game, and I think it showed.”
“It’s important to have this mindset consistently,” he continued. “Even though the first half ended today, I wasn’t afraid of the final result. I had this awareness of the group and the team and knew that everything was going to be okay. Of course, you may be lucky or unlucky, but you know that sooner or later things will work out. “This is what happened today and we must always try to maintain this spirit in every game, whether at home or away.”
“It should have been a penalty, but I wanted to leave the second goal to Artem, because he got the ball and he was very motivated and wanted to take the ball and score.”
“He has worked hard for the team and this is very important and fundamental to us, so I think it is a small gesture to make us feel happy for everything he does for us and to show our gratitude to him by allowing him to score .And I could see it on his face because I was sure he would do it.”
