Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg went on national television to make the perfect case for why Joe Biden should be our next president.
Buttigieg said on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher:
I came here because I believe in Joe Biden. And just, I get it. I get it. I’m not here to say he’s 10 years older than he was 10 years ago, or to deny that he sometimes confuses names, like Donald Trump sometimes says this name when he means it. But the beauty of Joe Biden is that he’s really great as a president. And you can tell because the things that you need a president to do are the things that he does best. Like providing infrastructure, championing women’s rights, and stimulating economic growth at a level that I’ve never seen under any president in my lifetime.
In November, one of two things will happen. We either get Donald Trump, or we get Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee. And they are fundamentally different futures. And I know which of those two futures I am prepared to live in, and which I want my children to live in as they grow up.

Over the past few weeks, those within the Democratic Party who want to exclude the president from the Democratic nomination have monopolized the airwaves. The backlash to why President Biden should remain in the race has been poorly organized.
The backlash is becoming more coordinated. Secretary Buttigieg, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Hakeem Jeffries have all supported Biden remaining in the race.
Buttigieg delivered the kind of support that more Democrats should be giving: The reason Joe Biden should keep running is because he is a good president. End of debate.
It’s time to end this nonsense and unite the Democratic Party around a candidate named Joe Biden.
