Poll: Majority Strongly Opposes Non-Citizen Voting, Blames Kamala Harris for Border Crisis

A majority of registered voters (75%) say they oppose allowing non-citizens to vote in U.S. elections and favor policies that make it harder for non-citizens to vote. New poll The Neapolitan News Service reported.

A majority of polls blame Vice President Kamala Harris for the border crisis and approve of her as President Joe Biden’s designated border chief.

In one poll, registered voters not only overwhelmingly oppose allowing non-citizens to vote in federal elections, but even more, 87 percent, support requiring voters to show a photo ID when voting. Only 9 percent oppose a photo ID requirement, and 3 percent say they are not sure.

A small minority of respondents, 54 percent, said they believed many undocumented immigrants “will be able to vote in this year’s election,” despite federal law prohibiting them from doing so. Thirty-six percent said they thought non-citizens would not vote in November’s election, and 10 percent were unsure.

Separately vote54% agreed that Harris “has taken responsibility for handling the situation at the southern border.”

Despite Biden holding a press conference in March 2021, 19% said he did not. She said so26% responded that they were not sure.

According to the poll, 47 percent of respondents said illegal immigration would increase if Harris were elected president, while 20 percent said it would decrease, 20 percent said it would remain the same, and 12 percent were unsure.

In contrast, 60% said illegal border crossings would decrease if former President Donald Trump were re-elected. Only 13% said they would increase, 15% said they would stay the same, and 11% were unsure.

The survey, released three months before the November election, found that illegal border crossings have increased since the Biden-Harris presidency. The survey results show that House Republicans Passed The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, introduced by U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), seeks to prevent non-citizens from registering to vote in federal elections. The bill comes after several local Democratic jurisdictions announced efforts to register non-citizens to vote, and some, such as the District of Columbia, have passed measures to allow non-citizens to vote in local elections. A coalition of 23 attorneys general have urged the Democratic-controlled Senate to pass it, but no progress has been made.

Another coalition of 24 attorneys general I called The U.S. Supreme Court has been asked to rule on a major case that would ban non-citizens from voting in U.S. elections.

The Center Square reports that the demand comes as many states are removing thousands of non-citizens from their voter rolls.
