I think the Lenovo Legion Go S will be the smartest pre-order this year. why? It offers massive specs, a larger screen, and a lower price point than many of its competitors in the portable gaming space. Retailing for $729.99 at Best Buy, it’s not just another entry into the PC handheld market, but a clear statement. High-end games don’t need a high price tag. Well, it’s still a lot of money, but players are putting in the work to make it work.

Take ASUS ROG Ally X for example. Priced at $799.99, it’s a fantastic device with a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, and a 7-inch screen. But the bottom line is that the Legion Go S takes gaming performance to the next level with 32GB of RAM, a larger 8-inch PureSight display, and a Ryzen Z2 Go processor built specifically for this handheld. Oh, and did I mention it’s $70 cheaper?

Of course, ASUS ROG Ally X has its advantages. Dolby Atmos sound, advanced cooling, and a slim, ergonomic design keep you comfortable all day long. However, the Legion Go S offers a more forward-looking package. Lenovo also hinted at Steam OS support in the future. This allows more performance to be unleashed on this portable device.
