Priscilla Hon triumphed on her return to the Australian professional tour, winning the Sunshine Coast Tennis International.

In his first Australian tournament since the Latrobe City Traralgon International last February, Hon won his first title in 10 months, beating Playford finalist Himeno Sakatsume 6-4 7-5 in the final.

In the men’s singles, American Christian Langmo won the title after beating Ajeet Rai 7-6(4) 1-6 6-4.

World No.176 Hon was at a dominant best in Caloundra, winning all five matches in straight sets.

Her impressive achievements continue the impressive conclusion to Hon’s season as she heads towards Australian Open qualifying.

In September, the Queenslander qualified for a Grand Slam for the first time in five years at Flushing Meadows. Following the US Open qualifiers, Hon earned main draw spots in three WTA 500s during the Asian swing (Seoul, Ningbo and Tokyo).

She will be looking to win back-to-back Australian Professional Tour titles when she plays at the Gold Coast Tennis International this week.

Horn, seeded 4th, is seeking his first consecutive wins since his professional debut.

Among those vying for the Gold Coast International title is former top 20 player Daria Saville. Saville, the event’s top seed, returns to the professional tour circuit following Australia’s quarter-final loss to Slovakia in the Billie Jean King Cup. This will be her first ITF singles event in Australia in nine years.

Talia Gibson will take on Saville in the draw looking to end the season on a high. Emerson Jones will also be at the tournament looking to avenge his second-round loss at the Sunshine Coast International.

The men’s draw sees Luke Saville play his first Pro Tour event since the Swan Hill International in March. The former doubles world number 23 spent 2024 primarily on the ATP Challenger circuit, most recently winning two doubles titles with Tristan Schoolkate. He played fellow Australian Pavle Marinkov in the first round.

Jason Kubler is this week’s wildcard entry. The Brisbane native made his return to the Pro Tour two weeks ago at his home event, reaching the semi-finals.

If Kübler can go one step further on the Gold Coast, he will advance to his first final since the Ilkley Challenger in June 2023.
