The King of Clay is bringing his training methodology and tennis treasures to Albania.

The Albanian coastal city of Durres will host a multi-sports complex that will teach the Rafa Nadal Academy according to the Movistar training methodology established in Mallorca, home of the 14-time Roland Garros champion.
The Spanish superstar and his team have a mission statement: “To develop and promote tennis and sports in Albania.” [and] “It reaffirms Rafa Nadal and his team’s commitment to sporting values and the education of children and adults around the world.”
“We are very excited to announce that we will soon be building and opening a center in Albania,” Nadal said. “This project is truly amazing and we loved Albania’s vision to promote sport and its values. I am confident it will be successful.”
The Rafa Nadal Sports Center in Albania features 12 tennis courts, 6 padel courts, a multi-sports court, a gym and wellness area, a swimming pool and a restaurant area.
The center will have a shop and museum featuring Rafa Nadal’s priceless trophies and clothing, as well as trophies donated by other champion athletes.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who met Nadal at the ZEL Costa Brava hotel, said the new complex would be located next to Manchester City’s new football centre.
Prime Minister Rama said, “There are many champions and great professionals in the world of sports, but there are not many champions of life and human values like Rafa. From afar, I always had the impression that it was Rafa.” He was a great man, but now I admire him even more for his humility and way of being.
“I think the value of this center is not only in learning how to play tennis or any other sport, but also in helping children and young people understand how important it is to be a good professional and a good person.”
When Nadal closes the curtain on his iconic competitive career, he will be very busy overseeing his tennis academy alongside his family.
The international expansion of the original Rafa Nadal Academy created the king of a clay tennis teaching empire worldwide.
