The news was initially reported as follows: Shams Charania The Athletic’s.

By joining the Spurs staff, Dupree follows in the footsteps of her predecessor and former Spurs head coach Becky Hammon, who led the Las Vegas Aces into a new era, winning the 2022 WNBA Coach of the Year Award and the organization’s first 2022 WNBA Championship.

“You start seeing a lot of women coming into the NBA ranks, so they’re like, ‘Absorb as much as you can.’” Dupree told TheNextHoops. Regarding the advice she received from her coaches at Temple, Dawn Staley and Ervin Monier: “Of course, if you need help from them, [Staley and Monier]They’re there. As the 2022-23 NBA season approaches, Dupree and other female coaches across the league continue to pave the way for future generations.
