LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Rex Orange County has announced plans for a theater tour in the U.S. and the U.K. after revealing details about his next album, The Alexander Technique.
Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off October 4 at The Auditorium in Chicago and continues North America through November 25 and 26, with Rex Orange County playing two shows at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The tour also includes eight nights at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, three nights at New York’s Beacon Theatre and Toronto’s Massey Hall.
Rex Orange County head to the UK for four shows at the London Palladium from February 16-19.
“This tour will feature a handful of carefully chosen venues in select cities, but will be multiple nights within them. Historically, with every album I’ve released, I’ve always done bigger and bigger shows, but for this particular project I wanted to do something different, because the new songs are more sonically intimate and lend themselves to being heard in a traditional setting. In these specific venues, I was able to create a show with a theatrical stage set that would better illustrate the themes of the album, along with the music. I love performing live, and I’m looking forward to bringing this new album to life in these beautiful rooms and on these iconic stages,” says Rex Orange.
Pre-sale tickets for the UK dates will go on sale on Wednesday, July 24th at 9am local time. Pre-sale tickets for the North American dates will go on sale on Wednesday, July 24th at 10am local time.
All tickets for both locations will go on sale next Friday, July 26th at 10am (local time).
