Road Trip Journey: Tulips, Cheese, & Belgian Charm

These three country road trips in Europe are one of my favorite things! You can see the amazing tulips and the garden of Monet, as well as a variety of beautiful and historical places!

This is the exact journey we did!

Full guide for the best place for spring in Europe

Day 1: Amsterdam & Flevoland -Tulpfield and Canal

  • Morning: Visit KEUKENHOF GARDENS to admire vivid tulips.
  • Afternoon: You can drive to Flevoland (45 minutes) to see a vast tulip field.
  • Dinner: Return to Amsterdam for dinner and explore nightlife near the dam square.

Day 2: Alkmaar -Cheese Market

  • Morning: Start with Alkmaar (40 minutes drive). Visit the famous Alkmaar Cheese Market (Open Friday from early April to late September to late September).
  • Afternoon: Explore the historic Alkmar old town.
  • Evening: Alkmaar relax.

Day 3: Rotterdam and Hague -Dutch culture and politics

  • Morning: Driving to Rotterdam (1 hour). Search for innovative buildings and visit Market Hall.
  • Afternoon: Short lane up to Hague (30 minutes). Visit Mauritshuis Museum, Binnenhof and Peace Palace.
  • Evening: Dinner at Hague’s lively center.

Day 4: Antwerp & Gent -Belgian Highlights

  • Morning: Driving with Belgium Antwerp (1.5 hours). Visit the Antwerp Central Station, known as a wonderful building.
  • Afternoon: A short car with Gent (1 hour). Visit Gravensteen Castle to explore Graslei Waterfront.
  • Evening: Dinner along the Gent Canal.

Day 5: BRUGES -Fairy Tale Street

  • Morning: short distance with cars up to Bruges (30 minutes). Climb the Belfry Tower for the panoramic view.
  • Afternoon: Chocolate tasting and canal boat tours. If you have time, take a beer tasting and walk!
  • Dinner: Explore Market Square and Dinner at the Historical Center.

Day 6: KORTRIJK & Giverny -Quick Stop & Monet ‘s Garden

  • Morning: Driving quickly with kortrijk (40 minutes). A simple stop for visiting Broel Towers and Begijnhof. There is a waffle!
  • Late Morning: France, France (3 hours). Visit the symbolic garden and house of Claude Monet.
  • Afternoon: Explore Giverny, an attractive village.
  • Dinner: Dinner at a local French restaurant.

I stay overnight near Giverny

7 days and 8 days (perhaps 9!): Paris -City of City

  • Morning (7 days): Driving to Paris (1 hour). Check -in and lunch at Paris Bistro.
  • Afternoon: Visit Eiffel Tower, Champs-élysées and Arc de Triomphe.
  • Dinner: Sein River Cruise and Dinner.
  • Morning (8th): Explore the Louvre Museum or Musée D ‘orsay.
  • Afternoon: visit Sacré-C Oribar Basilica Montmartre Neighborhood.
  • Evening: Dinner near Le Marais, the next night walks along Sein.
