The actor said he and Tom used to box when they were filming “The Outsiders” as teenagers… and that Tom beat him in a memorable sparring session.

As Rob explained on “The Rich Eisen Show” recently… he was 17 and Tom was 18 when they filmed the movie together. He says they worked out, jogged, boxed while they were holed up in the hotel room… and the testosterone was flowing.
Rob says the sparing matches were fierce and competitive… complete with headgear and mouthpieces… and that Tom once knocked him out in a hotel hallway.
Rob says he had a “pipe cleaner” arm at the time, but Tom remembers him being “a beast” and completely turned on. He says he landed a pretty good punch during their sparring session and got Tom to ring the bell, but the next moment he was up on the ground.
Rob said that after he threw the first punch, Tom’s eyes turned black… and TC knocked him out.
There’s no malice here… Rob said they were just boys being boys. Like “Fight Club.”
