Roma are delaying talks with veteran defender Mats Hummels.
After securing the signing of Mario Hermoso, Giallorossi turned his attention to the former Borussia Dortmund player who is still without a club.
According to One tempoThe Giallorossi have slowed down negotiations with Hummels’ camp due to the players’ financial demands. Hummels wants a salary of around 3 million euros per season.
Roma are weighing whether to go ahead with the deal and agree to Hummels’ request.
Aside from former Liverpool man Matip, there are not many replacements on the free transfer market and De Rossi will not want to risk going into the first half of the season with just three centre-backs in the squad.
The club will have to decide in the coming hours whether to persuade Hummels to join or move on to another target, as UEFA’s Europa League list is due to be submitted by tomorrow.
