Rome Mayor Gualtieri shares update on new stadium.

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri has reiterated the municipality’s commitment to the development of Rome’s new stadium in Pietralata.

In a sports industry talk hosted by RCS at Maxxi, Gualtieri praised the design idea, calling it not only a modern and functional stadium, but also a driving force for the urban regeneration of the entire neighborhood.

“We expect to complete the final project within a fairly short period of time. The Pietralata area is perfect. It can be built, it can be recycled, it can be open to the public.”

“This project has made progress and it doesn’t just involve the stadium, it also includes a lot of green space and the redevelopment of quadrants across the city,” the mayor said.

Gualtieri also underlined: Ad ChronosThe importance of owning stadiums for sports clubs is an important factor in filling the infrastructure gap that characterizes the capital city.

Among other ongoing projects, the mayor also mentioned the completion of the Stadio Olimpico subway and the redevelopment of facilities such as the Pala Titian.
