Investing.com – Russian stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday.

It was down 0.43% at the close in Moscow.

The top performer of the session was Gazprom PJSC (MCX:), which rose 1.63% or 1.95 points to trade at 121.70 at the close. meantime, PosAgro PJSC (MCX:) added 1.49% or 94.00 points to close at 6,391.00 and AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:) was up 1.28% or 0.67 points at 52.97 in late trading.

The worst performer of the session was Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:), which was down 7.61% or 0.78 points to trade at 9.47 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:) was down 5.77% or 27.20 points to close at 444.10 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:) was down 4.99% or 1.68 points to close at 32.02.

On the Moscow Stock Exchange, the number of stocks that fell outnumbered those that rose by 174 to 67, and 12 ended unchanged.

MOEX, which measures the implied volatility of Russian index options, rose 0.89% to 43.06.

Gold futures for February delivery rose 0.20%, or 5.30, to $2,633.50 per troy ounce. In other commodity trading, crude oil for February delivery rose 1.33% (0.92) to $70.16 per barrel, and the March Brent crude oil contract rose 1.24% (0.90) to $73.22 per barrel.

USD/RUB fell 1.22% to 99.98, while EUR/RUB fell 1.25% to 104.00.

U.S. dollar index futures were up 0.18% at 108.00.
