Samsung has temporarily halted shipments of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. In a move that brings back memories of the fiery (and not-so-funny) Galaxy Note debacle from eight years ago, the company is halting the release of the earbuds while it “urgently evaluates and improves” its quality control, according to a statement shared with Engadget. Some users who received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro before the July 24 launch have reported that the eartips are easily torn. Given how often the tips need to be removed and replaced to find the ideal fit, the tear-prone material could have led to terrible publicity and a costly recall if the company had gone ahead with the launch as planned.
Samsung homepage A new release date of August 28th has been added, but it’s unclear whether that’s a soft placeholder or a new hard target. Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Amazon listing has been removed entirely.
“To ensure that all products meet our quality standards, we have temporarily suspended shipments of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to distribution channels to conduct a full quality control assessment before shipping to consumers,” Samsung’s statement read. Samsung added that customers who have already received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and are experiencing issues should contact Samsung or visit a Samsung service center.
