This week’s major reports are retail sales, housing starts, and existing housing sales in February.

FOMC meets this week and policy change is unexpected.

In order to manufacture, a February industrial production report will be released and the NY and Phily Fed Manufacturing surveys will be released in March.


—– March 17 Monday —–


8:30 am: Retail sales In February, it will be released. The consensus is that retail sales have increased by 0.7%.

This graph shows retail sales since 1992. This is a seasonally adjusted monthly retail sales and food service (total and metastasis-gasoline).

8:30 am: New York eats food Empire State manufacturing survey March. The agreement is to read -2.0 at 5.7.

10 am: March NAHB housing construction company survey. The agreement is to read 43 to 43. The number of less than 50 indicates that more builders think that sales conditions are worse than better.

10 am: Main employment and unemployment (Monthly) January 2025

Multi -housing starts and single family houses begin8:30 am: The house begins february.

This graph begins with single and multi -family houses in 1968.

The agreement is for 1,366 million SAARs in 1.363 million SAAR.

Industrial production9:15 am: The Fed is released Industrial production and capacity use february.

This graph shows industrial production since 1967.

Consensus has increased industrial production by 0.3% and capacity utilization is not changed to 77.8%.

7 am: MBA (Mortgage Bankers Association) Mortgage purchase application index.

During the day: AIA Building claim index February (major indicators of commercial real estate).

2 pm: FOMC meeting announcement. At this meeting, policy change is unexpected.

2 pm: FOMC prediction. This includes the updated economic forecast of the Federal Open Market Committe (FOMC) participants, along with predictions on appropriate target federal funds.

2:30 pm: Fed Chairman Jerome Powell After the FOMC announcement, the press briefing will be held.

8:30 am: Initial weekly unemployment claim The report is released. The agreement is about last week’s 2.2 million to 224 initial claims.

8:30 am: Philly Fed Manufacturing Survey March. The agreement is to read from 18.0 to 12.0.

Existing housing sales10 am: Existing housing sales February from NAR (National Association of RealTors). The consensus is about 408,000 to 39.2 million SAAR.
