Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has reportedly held talks with Alejandro Garnacho amid his strong ties with Napoli.
United are believed to be open to Garnacho’s departure as it would ensure the club’s compliance with Premier League revenue and sustainability rules.
A previous report covered by The Peoples Person said Napoli manager Antonio Conte had chosen Garnacho as his main target to replace Kvica Kvaratskelia, who is set to make a blockbuster switch to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Recently there were suggestions from Italy that Napoli had submitted a bid for Garnazzo to United.
The offer is said to be worth around €45 million (£38 million) including bonuses. Earlier today, Ben Jacobs revealed that United want at least £70m for Garnacho. This is a sum that Napoli may consider excessive.

now, areanapoli.it Gli Azzurri have revealed they are “serious” about signing Garnacho and want to “close the deal as quickly as possible.”
Club president Giovanni Manna has reportedly already started contacting the Carrington Academy graduate’s agent.
Alexander Sepe of areanapoli.it added: “Antonio Conte is fascinated by the quality of the Argentine player who could find him a good friend in blue.”
“We’re talking about Scott McTominay, who’s been in contact with him lately.”
“They know each other very well, having shared the United environment for four years. Plus, we had the opportunity to lift the trophy together. Garnazzo could be sold for around 50 million euros, a figure that will not be easy for Napoli to reach, but the situation could unfold.”
Of course, McTominay left United for Naples in August 2024 and was a hit there.
The Scotland international is playing a key role in the team’s bid to win the Scudetto ahead of challengers such as Inter Milan and Atalanta.
So far this season, McTominay has scored an impressive four goals and three assists in 17 Serie A games.
