The Seattle Seahawks entered the 2024 season boasting an impressive 3-0 record.

Under new head coach Mike McDonald and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, the team’s offense is firing on all cylinders.

But despite the stellar start, concerns remain about the offensive line’s performance, particularly in pass protection and run blocking.

The Seahawks are exploring several options to address these issues.

ESPN’s NFL analyst Field Yates recently reported that the team has signed veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters as a free agent.

The 42-year-old Peters, who appeared in eight games for Seattle last season, could be looking for a reunion with his former team.

The Seahawks’ offensive line’s problems stemmed from a series of setbacks.

Key player Abraham Lucas remains on the physically disabled list after undergoing knee surgery last winter.

Making matters worse is the fact that Lucas’ primary backup, George Fant, went on the injured list over the weekend.

This unexpected turn of events has spurred McClendon Curtis into action. The team’s other options, rookie Michael Jerrell and Sataoa Laumea, have yet to play a game this season.

While Stone Forsyth has stepped up as a starter, the Seahawks clearly need to add depth to their roster.

Although not yet confirmed, the addition of Peters would be a valuable insurance policy for the offensive line.

As the season progresses, everyone will be watching to see how Seattle navigates these challenges.

Their ability to navigate these personnel issues while still maintaining momentum could be a telling indicator of the tone of the 2024 campaign.
