Notably, Ryan Burl, Mohammad Haris, Mark Deyal, Miguel Cummins, Aftab Alam and Lahiru Samarakoon are the foreign players signed by Rajshahi for the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25. In an official statement, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said: “The Durbar Raj Shahi team, currently competing in the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20, has been granted special approval for a Team A squad consisting of Bangladeshi players. I applied to the BPL technical committee. For today’s match against Rangpur riders due to the possibility of non-surrender of overseas players.”
“After reviewing the request, BCB has given approval for Durbar Rajshahi to form a team only, in accordance with the provisions outlined in clause 1.2.8 of the Conditions of Play for BPL 2024-25. Bangladesh player for this match.”
BPL rules require a minimum of two overseas players in each match.
According to Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) rules, each team must have at least two overseas players in its playing XI this season.
According to the BCB guidelines in the BPL players’ draft rule book, “A franchise must include a minimum of two (02) and a maximum of four overseas players playing XI (04). In the 11th edition/season of BPL T20.”
However, despite the absence of overseas stars, Durbar Rajshahi registered two narrow wins over Rangpur riders in the 34th match of the ongoing BPL 2024-25 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
