For singer Jason “Sundance” Head, best known for winning The Voice in 2016, it seems tragedy was avoidable.
However, the author may be thinking and praying a lot at this moment.
Late Friday, the star’s agent told the New York Post that Head had been shot in “Navy territory,” but fortunately the wound had damaged all of his vital organs.
The incident occurred at Head’s Texas ranch where the singer was alone.
“It’s Misty. I don’t have a lot of information, but please pray for Sundance,” Head’s wife wrote in her first update on Facebook.
“Sundance died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to the paramedics who called me. (According to the paramedics) They stabilized him for the flight. We’re on our way to Tyler now.
“Again, this is the only information I have at the time. Please pray for him.”
Moments later, Misty provided a follow-up message that calmed her followers’ nerves and provided more key details.
“It wasn’t his hunting rifle and no one shot him,” she wrote on Facebook Friday night. “He got out of the car and reached for his .22, and the .22 came out of its holster, fit right on the outside of the Jeep, and took off.”
Misty explained:
“Sundance said it happened so fast you could see the bullets falling. I didn’t think he called 911. Immediately after being hit, he put his hand in his pocket to call, but the phone wasn’t there and, full of blood, he went down the driveway to the main road to stop the car. help.
“After 10 cars, someone turned around to help and called 911.”
wow. Crazy, huh?!?
Sundance competed on season 11 of The Voice as part of coach Blake Shelton’s team, where he won the title, beating out rivals Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher and Wé McDonald.
Head, in particular, has captured the hearts of fans with versions of tracks by superstars like Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Keith Urban.
“Because there is no surgery to remove the bullet (it is safer to leave it in according to the trauma dr), they are releasing him,” Misty also wrote. “I really appreciate your concern as I am worried he will be released too soon. He is already bleeding from the wound and there are no antibiotics or painkillers sent home. Maybe take him home and get a second opinion…
“Seven hours ago he was really out of it. He lost his life and has now been released. Please continue to pray for a speedy recovery.”
