Elina Svitolina I broke up with my coach Raemon Sluyter After over a year of solid partnerships, the Ukrainian has returned from maternity leave and entered the top 20 (currently ranked 30th).
The 29-year-old former world No. 3 announced the news in a social media post on Friday.
“I wanted to let you know that Raemon Sluiter and I have decided to end our working relationship,” Svitolina wrote. “We have had some great successes and Ray has helped me become a better player. In my opinion, he is one of the best on both tours and I will always be grateful to him and to all that we have achieved together through our hard work and dedication.”

Sluiter became famous for his work with Dutchwoman. Kiki Bertens. He helped her break into the top 10 before retiring in 2021. Sluiter also helped Svitolina add aggression to her game, which was a key reason why she was able to compete so effectively after returning to the WTA Tour last season.
Svitolina, who won 17 WTA titles, missed a year from April 2022 to April 2023 while pregnant with her first child, Skye, who was born on October 15, 2022. The Ukrainian, who is married to French star Gaëlle Monfils, had climbed to 17th in the rankings (in March and May) but has dropped to 30th this week.
Svitolina won the 2023 WTA Player of the Year award, while Sluyter was a finalist for the WTA Coach of the Year award.
Svitolina has yet to decide on her next coach.
