STOCKHOLM, Sweden (CelebrityAccess) — The Country Music Association has announced that Joachim Richardson, station manager for Go Country Sweden, has won the 2024 CMA International Country Broadcaster of the Year award.

Richardson accepted the award from Viaplay Radio CEO Krister Modig, along with country artists Larry Fleet and Lauren Watkins, at the CMA Reception prior to Morgan Wallen’s headlining concert at Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

This award recognizes outstanding achievements by radio broadcasters or radio reporters outside the United States in their contributions to American country music.

Richardson was recognized for his efforts to develop new opportunities for international and national artists in Sweden.

Such efforts include initiatives such as “Go Country Live” and “Welcome to Sweden”, as well as a prominent member of the CMA Nordic Task Force.

Richardson is the first Swedish broadcaster to win the CMA’s ICB Award.

CMA will award the remaining 2024 CMA International Awards throughout the year.
