The Indian cricket team has won another match in their tour of Zimbabwe. The T20I series consists of five matches, of which three have been played. India, a relatively young team, has been performing well and although they lost the first match, they have won the other two matches played so far. Team India has recorded the most T20I wins with 150 wins.
Zimbabwe’s tour of India began on July 6 with a T20 match between the two teams at the Harare Sports Club. In the first match, India won the match by a margin of 13 runs.
In the second match, India scored a whopping 234/2 in 20 overs. Zimbabwe lost the match by a huge margin, finishing with a total of 134 runs.
The third match began with the players in blue uniforms winning the coins. Team captain Shubman Gill chose to have his players bat first. India posted 182/4 in the first innings. In the second innings, Zimbabwe posted 159/6 and lost the match by 23 runs.
India records most wins in T20I tournaments
India created history by becoming the first team to score 150 runs in a T20I after beating Zimbabwe in the third T20I. The young Indian team led by Shubman Gill put in another outstanding performance in the Zimbabwe series, securing a 23-run win.
With this win, India is 2-1 ahead in the series. Washington Sundar has been named Player of the Match. Sundar expressed the team’s desire to close out the series in the next game on Sunday. A win on Sunday would see India win the series.
India have achieved 150 wins in the format so far since the format began in 2006, making them the first team to achieve this milestone.
Pakistan came in second with 142 wins, while New Zealand remained in third with 111 wins, well behind the two Asian powerhouses.
