The British Advantage

MONews
1 Min Read

After their embarrassing upset in the Lord’s Test, not many on the Trent Bridge bingo card had West Indies leading in their first innings.

And when Chris Woakes got the ball under dark skies early on day three, it seemed almost certain that England would take a significant lead.

But Joshua Da Silva’s hard-hitting and No. 11 Shamar Joseph’s exuberant joy saw the visitors drive and pull home a clean 47-point lead.

But the momentum soon returned to England. Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope scored 105 in the first innings, but a sloppy bowling effort added to the game-winning 121. The match was now over for England.

Write it down: England’s Ben Duckett was celebrated his 50th birthday by Ollie Pope, while West Indies’ Kavem Hodge celebrated his 100th birthday below.
