Just days after the Pittsburgh Steelers released CB Darius Rush from their roster, the Kansas City Chiefs signed him to their practice squad. Per the Chiefs’ release for.

Rush has been inactive for the last two Steelers games, which wasn’t a good sign for him considering Cory Trice Jr. landed on IR in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Entering training camp, many thought Trice and Rush would battle for the top depth corner position. Trice ended up winning the spot, but now he’s on IR and Rush has been taken off the roster.

Rush has appeared in a total of five games for the Steelers and logged a total of 39 snaps on defense, but none in 2024. He played 20 snaps on special teams in 2023 and 19 snaps in 2024, but did not play catcher on punt coverage. Unit very well. Not a top depth corner and with no value on special teams, it no longer made sense to keep him on the roster.

The Steelers initially claimed Rush off waivers just before the start of the 2023 season.
