Markus Söder, the leader of the conservative Christian Social Union (CSU) in Germany, said he plans to establish a free trade zone with Europe during his trip to India.
“Our main goal is to strengthen the relationship with India,” Söder said before it departed from Munich on Saturday.
The Bayern -only CSU has an alliance with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of the incoming minister Friedrich Merz. Söder said not only consulted MERZ ahead of his trip, but also consulted with Ursula von der liyen.
“Our goal is not only to expand Bavarian contact, but also to signal a new federal government. We want a common free trade area between Europe and India,” Södo added.
The trip to Söder, which begins on Saturday, will last for several days and visited the political talks in New Delhi and the Kar or Taka Bavarian partner in the southwest.
The regional capital, Bengal Ruru (formerly Bungalore), is often called Silicon Valley in India, famous for its prosperous high -tech industries and shopping scenes.
Söder expressed conviction that Bavaria and Germany could benefit from the establishment of a free trade zone.
“In this world of chaos, we must send a new signal in favor of the creation of common free trade and the creation of common free trade areas,” he said.
The Indian population was 1.4 billion, and he called the country a “big opportunity” to strengthen economic cooperation.
