The contracts of these five players as well as Ishan Kishan & Shreyas Iyer have been terminated by BCCI.

On Wednesday evening, February 28, BCCI announced the central contract for India’s men’s cricket team for the 2023-2024 session. Players love Mohd. Siraj, Shubham Gill and KL Rahul were promoted, but Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer lost their contracts due to negligence in not playing domestic cricket.

The BCCI has also sent a stern warning to the remaining players playing domestic cricket when they are not on national duty at the end of the release.

However, a total of seven players, including Ishaan and Iyer, lost their central contracts. Some names were definitely shocking when you look at their performance, age, and statistics.

Let’s take a quick look at these players.

#1 Yuzvendra Chahal

Even today, Chahal is considered the best leg-spinner in the world. However, the past year has not been good for him as he has been left out of the Indian cricket team in all formats.

Now Chahal’s contract has been terminated by the BCCI. He has been placed in C category for the 2022-2023 session.

#2 Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara

Pujara, also known as ‘WALL’ among cricket fans, also lost his BCCI contract. Surprisingly, he was in Class B last year, but his contract has now ended. He was left out of the Indian Test cricket team after the WTC Final 2023.

#3 Deepak Huda

Deepak Huda

Deepak Hooda, who was seen as Virat Kohli’s replacement in T20s, also lost his central contract. He was in C category last year. His poor performance in T20Is could be the reason for his dismissal.

#4 Shikhar Dhawan

Shikar Dhawan

After being out of his place in the Indian cricket team for over a year, Dhawan’s contract was destined to come to an end. Dhawan has not played a single match for India in his last year or two.

#5 Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav

Like Pujara, Umesh last played for India in the 2023 WTC finals. After losing his place in the team, Umesh Yadav’s central contract was terminated. Notably, Umesh was in the C category for the 2022-2023 season.
