It’s no secret that the Miami Dolphins have some serious problems at the quarterback position.

Starter Tua Tagovailoa was diagnosed with the third concussion of his NFL career in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills and has been sidelined ever since.

Backup Skylar Thompson took over under center, but a rib injury forced him to sit out Week 4 as the Dolphins were blown out by the Tennessee Titans.

Tyler Huntley was the Dolphins’ QB1 in that game, with Tim Boyle assisting him.

On Friday, it was announced that the Dolphins had waived Boyle, per the Official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Boyle has had some success this season, completing 7 of 13 pass attempts for 79 yards.

He played in three games for the New York Jets last season, starting two of them, throwing for 360 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions while completing 62.3% of his pass attempts.

Despite Thompson’s rib injury being very painful and affecting his ability to breathe, he is listed as unavailable for Sunday’s game in Miami against the New England Patriots.

Whether he plays or not, Huntley will be a starter under center for coach Mike McDaniel.

Miami has had major problems scoring since Tagovailoa’s injury. They scored 20 points in a Week 1 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but their highest score since has been just 12 last weekend.

Many people have advised Tagovailoa to retire after his recent concussion, and he is reportedly seeing several specialists before deciding what to do next.
