On April 5-6, Darlington RACEWAY, Christopher Bell, on weekends, will congratulate the roots of race. The Joe Gibbs Racing Driver is intended to drive two cars with other paint schemes and honor Rick Ferkel, one of his racing mentors.

Cathy Ferkel, the wife of almost 50 years of Rick, will attend with several children and grandchildren.

Christopher Bell is sentenced to weekends

BELL will drive to Toyota Camry XSE 20 times the next day after driving 19th Toyota GR Supra in Xfinity Series Race on April 5th. Both cars are characterized by vintage rivers and reflect the sprint car Ferkel used to drive on race blades.

Ferkel played an important role in forming the initial career of Bell. After Ferkel passed away on January 1, 2024, BELL continued to respect his legacy by introducing decals on the Dash of JGR cars 20 times.

In an official statement shared by NASCAR’s rich man, JEFF GLUCK, BELL helped Ferkel invaded the racing world. “Rick gave me the first chance in a full -fledged sprint car, which really helped me to bring me to the national scenes.”

BELL added that he moved for a while with Ferkel’s family at the age of 16 and raced for Rick Ferke Racing. Even after Bell left the team, Ferkel remained a mentor. Bell described him, “Every week I was a person to seek advice, and I checked in to see how I am.”

Ferkel preached that BELL always had to drive as hard as possible. Bell is now honored to express his respect to him in Darlington.

Bell is not the only driver in honor of the legend on that weekend. Austin Cindric will also participate.

Team Penske driver will pay for Dale Earnhardt SR., one of NASCAR’s greatest drivers. Earnhardt’s symbolic blue and yellow paint schemes run Earnhardt, the same car number used during NASCAR in the 2nd Mustang (No. 2 guestang).

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said Cindric contacted him to get permission to run Throwback Scheme and Junior was more than allowing it.

Darlington Raceway’s GOODYEAR 400 retreat is scheduled for 3 pm on Sunday, April 6.
