House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) has been spewing angry, xenophobic rhetoric that is being interpreted as a sign that the GOP is in decline.
Comer told Maria Bartiromo:
Minnesota is not your average state with Tim Walz as governor. There are great people in Minnesota. But Minnesota has a lot of people from other countries, and they have different ideologies that don’t respect capitalism. We have the strongest economy in the world, so we’re concerned about that.
But we can’t have more government. We can’t run like China. In China, the government plays a major role in every business. The government should have ownership of every business, and the government dictates every aspect of our lives. That doesn’t work. In the United States, that’s exactly what Tim Waltz seems to believe. We know that he took his students to China and tried to teach them that China was doing things the right way.

Comer’s xenophobic tirade against Muslims is a sign that the Republican Party is on the rise. Comer is in Minnesota, where Harris’s running mate Tim Walz is. The governor said the country is not as capitalist as other countries because of its large Muslim population.
Besides the fact that Comer’s argument is extremely narrow-minded, it is also wrong. Muslims don’t hate capitalism, but Comer is trying to claim that Tim Walz is a communist, so he is trying to find something to support his story.
The Republican Party is rapidly declining and spiraling out of control. They have no answer for Harris-Walz, so racism and bigotry are all they have. The Republican Party is losing votes. And James Comer showed that he had no idea how to stop the bleeding.
