Arnold Slot will step foot at Anfield for the first time as manager ahead of two friendlies at the new home and he remains keen to improve the squad.
The Dutchman, writing in his first programme notes as director, said: liverpoolfc.com): ‘I also know that there are many areas where we can and must improve and grow.
‘The players know that. They have high standards and I expect to see that improvement in the coming days and weeks.’

There will be a lot of work happening at the AXA Training Centre between now and our game against Ipswich Town, which will hopefully improve our performance on the pitch.
Some might suspect that the Dutch are keen to add a new player to their squad, and given our public interest in signing Martin Zubimendi, it looks like we are already doing just that.
While there will be no chance to visit home stadiums and meet new players in the final friendly before the season starts, there is still a chance to sign new players before the transfer window closes.

Whether it’s a defensive midfielder, a defender or a wide attacker, Richard Hughes looks set to add new options to a side that finished third in the Premier League last year.
We will have to see if the current dressing room power is enough to compete in all four divisions, but many will already be clamoring for some change.
