New Zealand national cricket team Test captain Tim Saudi has expressed his desire to swap lives with former India national cricket team captain MS Dhoni. He said he would like to see what life would be like if he was a Chennai Super Kings player.

Dhoni is arguably one of the biggest names in cricket. The former Indian national cricket team captain is the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. Under his leadership, the team has won all the ICC tournaments involving white ball and has also performed well in Tests.

Dhoni is held in high esteem in the country for what he has done for Indian cricket. Not only in the country, but the keeper-batsman is also one of the most popular spectators in the world. Wherever he goes, the chants of “Dhoni Dhoni” resonate.

Dhoni is highly regarded in India and his legacy is unrivalled. The aura he carries is sensational and is evident when he bats in the Indian Premier League. Wherever he plays, everyone in the stands will cheer him on and chant his name.

Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, but even after that, he remains one of the biggest celebrities in the country. Despite his poor health, the goalkeeper-batsman played for the fans and even in his 40s, he is still one of the cleanest strikers in the game.

MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli? Tim Southee names Indian star he wants to change his life with

At the CEAT Cricket Awards 2024, New Zealand pacer Tim Saudi was asked to nominate the cricketer whose life he would like to change for a day. The fast bowler came up with the name MS Dhoni, expressing his desire to see what it would be like to be one of the most loved cricketers in the world.

Question: If you could swap lives with any other cricketer for a day, who would it be and why?

Team Saudi said, “MS Dhoni just wanted to see what life was like as MS Dhoni.”

There has been a lot of speculation over Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League over the past few months. The keeper-batsman is in the final stretch of his career and there have even been speculations that the keeper-batsman has already played his last season as a player in the league.

This is because MS Dhoni has said that he will play one more season in the league after the 2023 tournament. He has also decided to hand over the captaincy of the team to youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, there are few reports that say his future in the league depends on the guidelines related to the auction and RTM.

It has been reported that MS Dhoni may play as an unrestricted player in IPL 2025. This is because the BCCI is considering to bring back the existing rule that allows players to be retained in the unrestricted category. The retention policy along with the unrestricted category rule is expected to be announced just before the IPL 2025 mega auction.
