While commenting on Thanksgiving, Tom Brady made some very blunt comments about Daniel Jones leaving the Giants last week, and the quarterback GOAT was not impressed at all.
Tom Brady’s blunt thoughts on Daniel Jones
There is no higher praise in football than receiving praise from Tom Brady, but conversely, receiving criticism from the NFL’s GOAT can be difficult to accept.
Daniel Jones has been in the news a lot recently after requesting to be released from the roster outright after being waived by New York, and Brady was less than impressed with the way the quarterback handled the situation.
Brady was co-commenting on the Giants’ loss to Dallas on Thanksgiving and there were no surprises when Jones was mentioned. That’s because the three-time MVP was asked his opinion on Jones’ request for his release.
“I don’t know how that whole situation played out, but the thought of asking for your release from a team that has committed so much to you is probably different than the way I handled it,” Brady said.
“I always felt like I wanted to earn the trust and respect of my teammates regardless of the situation. I knew I was trying to do my best for the team because that was the most important thing.”

Brady said the team invested a lot of money in Jones. And he said that no matter how difficult it was, he would never have abandoned his teammate like that.

Jones joined the Minnesota Vikings shortly after being released by the Giants, and there was speculation about Sam Darnold’s future after his underperformance.
“A few different things happen in the NFL. Everyone makes individual choices. I think we all face different challenges at some point in our careers.” Brady continued.

“I showed up every day. I didn’t care if they asked me to be a scout team safety or a scout team quarterback. I was going to do everything I could to help the team win.”
The Vikings were exactly what Jones was looking for in his sixth year in the NFL. He hoped to replace New York with a team that would make the playoffs this year.
