Travis Kelce said he has no plans to correct errors in the Super Bowl ring he received from the Kansas City Chiefs last week. The reason is that they think it makes the ring “more exclusive.”
Inside the ring commemorating Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVIII championship, all of the Chiefs’ postseason wins are listed, including the seeding of each opponent. The Miami Dolphins, who were a sixth seed in last season’s playoffs, are listed as a seventh seed in the ring.
Jason Kelce pointed out a “major little jerk” to his brother. From the latest “New Heights” podcast:It was released on Wednesday and Travis Kelce was asked if he had any plans to fix the error.
“I don’t mind at all,” Travis Kelce said.
‘No, I like that you didn’t care at all what seed Miami was. They were the seventh. Who cares? They would not have been able to create any seeds on their side. “It would have been okay,” he said.
Travis Kelce added that the error made his third ring with the Chiefs “more unique.”
“Yeah, we made it really detailed, and oh man we messed up. We just made it more exclusive. We messed up about something that didn’t mean anything,” he said.
The Chiefs produced more than 400 rings for this championship, the second straight year and third time in the past five years. According to ring maker Jostens, each ring contains 529 diamonds, 38 rubies and 14.8 carats worth of precious stones.
Among the features is a display commemorating “Tom & Jerry,” the name of the play that helped the Chiefs score a touchdown in overtime to beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22. The play, in which quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a 3-yard scoring pass to Mecole Hardman, is pictured in a ring in coach Andy Reid’s writing.
