Donald Trump sent out a fundraising email asking for cash after shots were fired nearby.
Reuters reported:
Trump’s campaign previously said gunshots were heard nearby but it was safe.
erase According to emails seen by Reuters, he wrote to a fundraising list: “I heard gunshots near me, but wanted to get this out there before the rumors get out of hand. I am safe and sound!”

This move shows Trump’s priorities. He’s using this incident to raise money. No other candidate in his right mind would make sending out fundraising emails a top priority after a second person in a matter of months tried to kill him.
Trump’s tricks are always problematic.
The first assassination attempt didn’t make him more sympathetic or help his poll numbers, and there’s no indication that a sequel will do him any good.
