Trump seeks to regain attention

MONews
1 Min Read

“Donald Trump on Thursday attempted to insert himself back into the national conversation that Vice President Kamala Harris has been leading for more than two weeks, holding an hour-long news conference in which he attacked Mrs. Harris’s intelligence and mocked her for similarly failing to answer questions from journalists.” The New York Times report.

“Mr. Trump also expressed frustration when Ms. Harris questioned the size of the crowd, boasting about the number of people who attended his rally on Jan. 6, 2021, and insisting that the mob of several hundred that stormed the Capitol was relatively small. But he initially focused on the size of the crowd on the National Mall, comparing it to the crowd that Martin Luther King Jr. gathered for his famous “I Have a Dream” speech and declaring it to be larger.”

Trump said, “Nobody has ever spoken to a bigger crowd than I have. When Martin Luther King speaks, when you look at his great speeches, when you look at our speeches – the same real estate, the same everything, the same number of people, or – we have more.”
