“Music licensing is a vital part of integrating music across multiple platforms, and this partnership provides our clients with an integrated solution, giving them direct access to UMG’s extensive repertoire,” Lasso said.

He added: “With us, Reinforced agreementWe have centralized this process, integrating UMG recorded music licensing into Tuned Global’s service offering and contracts. While UMG retains full ownership and final decision-making over their catalog, we are the primary point of contact for our clients.”

Lasso also explained that the Tuned Global platform will allow users to target specific repertoires such as Afrobeats, pop and jazz.

Tuning Global Since Raso founded the company in 2010, it has become a prominent player in the B2B music streaming space. The company’s technology and licensing solutions are used by other companies to launch music streaming services or, more generally, to integrate licensed music into digital services.

Raso claims the company can “build a full streaming service in three months” because:[its] We offer white label streaming apps, a cutting edge music backend, and an extensive set of over 500 APIs for those looking to develop or improve their own frontends.

Tuned Global’s MD further claims that the company’s API “supports”: Virtually every concept “In the music streaming industry,” he added. [Tuned Global] In the B2B space, we are differentiated.

James Healy, Universal Music Group

“We are excited about the opportunities this new global licensing agreement will create,” said James Healy, SVP of Digital Strategy and Business Development for Universal Music Group.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with Tuned Global and now integrate UMG’s recorded music catalog licensing into Tuned Global’s suite of technology solutions.

“This new way of working will help us amplify our ideas across UMG’s global repertoire.”

Tuned Global is at the forefront of the evolution of the global streaming business, solidifying its position in the global B2B streaming space.

Lasso notes that while traditional streaming services continue to thrive in many territories, there is a growing focus on regional or local music and artists, which has led to the emergence of niche services backed by major regional telcos, such as Tusass Music in Greenland, Ethio Telecom’s Sewasew and Gabb Music in the US.

“At the same time, we’re seeing significant innovation in the gaming sector and related companies, with music becoming a core component of the overall experience,” Lasso said.

“We’re also seeing a significant shift in demand for API solutions as companies look to innovate beyond simply replicating platforms like Spotify,” he added.

Looking ahead, Raso noted that “music licensing is a critical component of any successful music strategy,” and that Tuned Global’s deal with UMG “represents an important first step in facilitating this process and strengthening our offering.”

“While this agreement is a significant milestone, we see this as just the beginning and want to develop tailored licensing solutions for a range of industries, including fitness, wellness, traditional radio and background music streaming services,” said Lasso.

“Additionally, we are focused on expanding our platform and launching a series of new products over the next 12 months to drive user engagement and provide unique differentiation opportunities for DSPs and music-centric experiences.”Music Business Worldwide
