Without Andy Murray, England fans’ attention will largely be focused on Jack Draper, Katie Boulter and Emma Raducanu.

Britain’s No. 1 Draper will be the No. 25 seed and his best result at a major was reaching the fourth round in New York last year.

His powerful serve and aggressive hitting will be a good fit for the fast-paced Flushing Meadows courts.

It would also work well for bolters with a similarly aggressive style.

The No. 31 seed, whom Brodie named “the player to watch in the tournament,” has yet to advance past the second week of a major.

Raducanu will return to the same venue where she celebrated her stunning victory in 2021, becoming the first player to win a Grand Slam in the qualifying round there.

She skipped the Olympics to avoid a quick transition from clay to hard courts, and reached the quarterfinals of the Washington Open in early August, but has not competed since.

“For Emma this year, it was particularly challenging to adjust her schedule post-surgery,” Brody said.

“When you come back from injury, other people often start to show up out of nowhere because you’re diving into the deep end.

“The wins she’s had over the past few weeks that she’s been playing have shown that she’s competitive. I think the muscle memory from her wins there will come into play.”
